The task of the WG is to promote science, research and advanced training in the area of rhythmology, which includes especially heart pacemaker or defibrillator therapy and clinical electrophysiology. Under the auspices of the Austrian Society of Cardiology, the WG is committed to the consistent implementation of international recommendations for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, while country-specific features and requirements in medical care are taken into consideration. The WG supports the ongoing documentation of medical services in the field of device implantation and ablation therapies in the form of an online data registry. The WG is also available for assistance to all physicians, patients and representatives of the medical technology industry in matters of rhythmological problems. The rapidly growing medical and technological knowledge is accounted for by the active participation in the Annual Meeting of the ASC.
