Joint position report about transcutaneous aortic valve interventions (TAVI)

In 2009, the management board of the ASC asked the WG on interventional cardiology and the WG on heart surgery to write a joint position report on the topic of “transcutaneous aortic valve interventions - TAVI”.

Although this was initially considered to be a mammoth task, the dedicated collaboration of theauthors resulted in a position report that was adopted not only by the ASC but the Austrian Society of Thorax and Heart Surgery (ASTHS) as well.

However, just like everything else in medicine, TAVI is constantly undergoing changes and new insights will supplement or change individual positions. Of course we will ensure that this report stays up to date and are grateful for any suggestions.

In the meantime, we hope that the TAVI position report will be useful to you in your daily work.
