Conditions of participation

Abstracts can be submitted in the German as well as English language. It is also possible to submit abstracts that were accepted to or presented at an international congress in 2011/2012. However, they may not have been presented in Austria yet.

Companies and their representatives are excluded from the participation.

  1. By submitting his or her work, the sender agrees to be evaluated by the ASC and to comply with the conditions of participation.
  2. Each sender confirms that he/she is the creator of the data and that its submission is with the approval of the named authors.
  3. If the abstract is accepted, the sender grants the copyrights to ASC for publication.
  4. Submissions that do not correspond to the conditions of participation will be rejected with the exclusion of legal right and without stating any reasons.
  5. Participation in the competition is free of charge.

A notification of the acceptance or rejection will be sent to you no later than the end of April 2012. If you have not received any notification by then, please contact the ASC administrative office (office@atcardio.at)

Evaluation

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated in an anonymised form by four independent reviewers.

The evaluation is performed masked via a point system (1 to 10). The best abstracts will be honoured during the annual meeting, as featured posters or as a lecture; the remaining abstracts will be presented in the scope of the poster presentation.

Abstract reviewers

The reviewers of the Annual Meeting 2012 are nominated by the ASC and have a verified professional expertise in their fields. No reviewer will be presented with his or her own abstracts for evaluation.

The activity of a reviewer is based on discretion and is performed on a voluntary basis.

The reviewers evaluate the submitted abstracts according to the criteria of scientific originality.

The best abstracts will receive a prize during the annual meeting.
